Scotch Whisky Association targets alcohol abuse with US$820,000 fund launch
THE Scotch whisky industry is
setting up a £500,000 fund to support projects aimed at reducing alcohol
misuse.
The five-year investment from the
Scotch Whisky Association will see £100,000 invested each year in individual
charities and organizations which work to reduce alcohol-related harm in
communities. It will target initiatives tackling alcohol problems among young
people as well as families affected by excessive drinking, after research
revealed more funding was required for such projects.
The fund will be managed by
Foundation Scotland.

Well I read the article and I’m sure
the money could be spent in a better way, but I’m optimistic and will wait and
see how effective it really is or isn’t.......................
